“After losing our beloved family dog, I decided one day to wander into our local animal shelter. While I was there a newly found dog arrived. Her hair was so long you could barely see her eyes. I spoke softly to her “what happened to you sweetheart”, she looked at me and our eyes met. I went home and a few days later the shelter called to say they had a dog i may like. It was her, all cleaned up. The bond between us was already there. Her name is Calle and our whole family loves her. I very much wanted a painting of her and Sam’s animal portraits were unequaled in his ability to capture an animals essence. I couldn’t be happier with her portrait.
